It does take time and patience to begin using your gifts, and one suggestion is to start right where you are. You will make mistakes, but don’t let the mistakes distract you from your gifts. Also, if you are in a church where they allow you to minister and grow, and with a pastor that see’s your gifts, that would be ideal.

Another suggestion is to read books on the prophetic and counseling. There are several good authors, and one book that I just finished reading is 4 keys to Hearing God’s Voice by Mark Virkler. This is an excellent book to help you with hearing God’s voice, and guiding you on maturing your gifts. You can see the bookstore tab on this website to give you an idea of books that I recommend and have read.
