God’s Promises

2 Corinthians 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

There have been times in my life where I just cry out to the Lord and ask Him, “What about all the promises you gave us?  Why did it not  happen  yesterday!”  At times I grow weary of the battle, then something rises up in me and reminds me of His word spoken over us.

Focus

The invisible realm is superior to the natural realm.  The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

My present situation is temporary, as is yours.  What we don’t see with the natural eye is eternal.  For that we need to look with our spiritual eyes.  It is with our spiritual eyes we gain insight, hope, a future, and we see the plan to prosper us.

When we look with our spiritual eyes, we gain faith. Faith is anchored in the unseen.

It was mentioned to me once  to remind the Lord the promises spoken over us, to declare them out loud.  Why?  Because faith comes by hearing, and in declaring out loud I am hearing His word spoken afresh.   It is to build up our faith, as God does not need reminding.

It also helps me to clear my mind of the lies of the enemy.  When we submit the mind of man to the things of God, we end up with faith and a renewed mind.

So what am I seeing?  A prosperous future, filled with the blessings of the Lord, walking in victory and freedom.

What do you see?

May you be richly blessed.

Healing in Jesus Name

1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Recently I have been studying the topic of healing  which has brought quite a bit of clarity on the subject for me.

Many years ago I requested prayer for healing.  The people praying for me made me feel guilty for having surgery scheduled, and that I should trust God for my healing and not go through with the operation.   I did anyway.

Needless to say, this incorrect type of prayer brought guilt and the lie that God did not want to heal me.  This lie stayed with me for many years.

Throughout the years, I had asked the Lord for other types of healings,  but in the back of my mind I always heard that it wasn’t for me.  God can heal other people, but not me.    I understand now that this mindset actually hindered the Lord in working on my behalf.

I now understand  that the prayer I received many years ago was incorrect.  They were not praying for me, but making me feel guilty.  God does not operate in guilt, but in faith, hope and love.

My misunderstanding about healing was caused by many factors and not just one.  I had lack of teaching, I did not understand the scriptures correctly, I believed the lie that  it wasn’t for me and many more.

With healing, God is not the problem. His word is true and will never return void.  Since then I have come to understand several truths about healing.   Healing is for today and it is for every believer that calls on the name of Jesus.

Jesus heals all and in various ways.  We may have  a delayed healing or an instantaneous healing.  Healing may come through the hands of a doctor, through surgery and medication.  The word says that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights.

God is the originator of everything, and He is the one that originated the science of medicine.

It is important to have the mind of Christ  and speak that over ourselves.  I also came to understand how God views sickness.   Here is what I discovered:

  • Bondage-  Luke 13:16
So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath
  • Enemy 1 Cor 15:26
The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
  • Evil Psalm 41:8
“An evil disease,” they say, clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”
  • Oppression Acts 10:38
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

I am sure there are many more.

Jesus meets us where we are. If we need surgery, then have the surgery.   Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights.  Hospitals, doctors and aspirin fall into that category.

The scriptures tells us there are different ways people received their healing. There is no set pattern with God.  We are not to limit God on how He will  heal, but He always does.

I have come to realize that  when I pray for healing, sickness has been destroyed because of the cross and God is glorified.  Appropriate that truth and declare it when praying for others and respond in faith and love.  The word says in John 10:10  I have come to give you life and life abundantly.

Let’s walk in abundance of life, because death has been defeated.

Flowing in Power, Signs and Wonders

Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

In reading about the life of Stephen, I asked myself this question.  How would I like to be full of faith and power, and do great  wonders and signs among the people?  (Acts 6:8)  Do you know that this is possible, even today, especially today?

I have some good news for you.  Flowing in the power that Stephen did is available to us right now.   To  understand  about the faith that Stephen operated in,  listed  are  types of faith described in Scripture.

Saving Faith  – Romans 5:1

Saving faith involves true repentance from sin.  We must hear, believe and personally accept the message of the Gospel.   Faith is a gift of God to man to enable us to be saved.

Sanctifying Faith – Galatians 2:20

Sanctifying faith enables us to live a holy life after receiving Jesus as Savior.  We must experience saving faith in order to receive sanctifying faith.

The Gift of Faith  1 Corinthians 12:8-9

The spiritual gift of faith has the special ability to believe God.  We know that God is going to do the impossible.  We can exercise the type of faith when others around us do not believe.

The Fruit of Faith  Galations 5:22

The fruit of faith is not something you can develop yourself.  It is a spiritual fruit developed in your life by the Holy Spirit.

Faith as a fruit is a character. It is an attitude of faith towards God.  It is developed through the process of His  life within you bringing you spiritual growth.

How to increase faith

We can increase our faith through hearing the Word of God.  So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.   Romans 10:17

Stephen was a man who kept company with the apostles and disciples.  He was probably with them when they told the stories of Jesus and his miracles.  I can imagine that these stories never ceased.  Stephen was  hearing the word of God, because Jesus is the word.

By hearing the word, Stephen´s  faith began to increase.   The word became so much a part of him that he probably began to envision himself doing the works that Jesus did.  He got to the point that he had no limits when it came to faith and working miracles,  just like Jesus.

Let´s get into the word. Let it be so much a part of who we are that we too will have no limits to what God can do through us.  It´s  a  promise from God, so let´s appropriate what is ours and begin to flow in great power, wonders and signs among the people.

May you be richly blessed this day.

Words That Brings Curses and Not Blessings

James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.(NKJ)

We  have  all probably heard and read the dangers of the words we receive.  Words  spoken over us  can  either bring us a curse or bring blessings.

But what about the words that  we speak?  Did you know that what we say can  cause an  open a door for a curse to operate in our lives?

We may say that we  don´t curse,  but the enemy is very subtle.  Did you know that just by saying negative things about another person can bring a curse upon you you?

As children of the Lord, every word that proceeds from our mouths should be words of encouragement and exhortation. We ought to lift other people up, even when everything points the wrong way.

In some circumstances that can be difficult.  But Jesus always finds something good about us, and I am sure we can too.

If we stop and think, I am sure the Lord can bring to our memory some negative words we have spoken over someone.

The good news, Jesus of course!  If we have ever said anything negative about someone, we can always break those effects that have come over us in His mighty and powerful name.

To break the curse, simply ask the Lord to remove the curse of the words that you have said and receive his  abundant blessings to flow in your life today.

As you break the effects of those words, blessings will begin flow into your life.

Be blessed in His mighty name.
