What is your Gift?

Romans 4:17b in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.

I just started following a new writing blog that has greatly encouraged me.  For quite some time I have had a desire to write, but through life’s circumstances my desire for writing disappeared. It was not until I had some wonderful people pray for me and it was discovered that the enemy stole my gift!  Since he was found out, he had to return it and I am back writing again.

In this blog post, the writer  challenges us to call ourselves ‘writers.”  That sparked something in me, and not only does God call us many wonderful things and His promises are true, it’s important that we call ourselves what  the Lord shows us and  yes, what we desire to be.

Besides writing, The Lord has also called me to preach, and that is something I already do.  So I thought, what else has the Lord called me to do and be?  Are the gifts and calling limited to just one or two  things, or many things?

What has He called you?  What is your desire?  It’s not what people label you but it’s what you label yourself that will make the biggest impact on others.

Are you a missionary, evangelist, exhorter?  What a about a prophet?  Maybe you have the gift of service, helps or administration and don’t feel qualified for the job.  Qualification begins from inside out. Trust me, that is how it starts, I have been there!  Once you “believe ”  that  the Lord has called you and has given you a gift, it will only be natural for you to  operate in that gift and then it will show on the outside.

Maybe you were like me, where the gift was gone, stolen. God gives life to the dead and calls those things that are not as though they are.  Reclaim what is yours, and begin walking out your gift today, not tomorrow but today.

May you be richly blessed this day!

He Has Supplied

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The verse above is one of the most common verses used when one is going through financial hardship.  It’s a wonderful promise found in the Bible, and one that I have prayed often.

December for us has always been a slow month in regards to work.  My husband’s consulting work comes to a low, and since my work is seasonal I don’t always have clients in December.

As I was getting ready to pray  my usual  for the Lord to supply this Christmas season, I had a different revelation of what Christmas is about.

Jesus has supplied our need upon His birth, death and resurrection.   He emptied himself on the cross, and we beheld His Glory.  That was all I needed to know, He took care of everything!

I then began to thank the Lord for what we do have,  and not worry about sending out my banana bread again as gifts!  I began to praise Him for what He has accomplished on the cross, why we celebrate Christmas and joy just filled my heart.

Wise men came from the East to worship Jesus, they traveled far and brought him gifts of gold, Frankincense and Myrh.

  • Gold  is symbolic of His divinity God in the flesh.
  • Frankincense is a symbol of holiness and righteousness. The gift of frankincense to the Jesus  was symbolic of His willingness to become a sacrifice, wholly giving Himself up.
  • Myrrh symbolizes bitterness, suffering, and affliction. The baby Jesus would grow to suffer greatly as a man and would pay the ultimate price when He gave His life on the cross for all who would believe in Him.

Jesus provided everything for us starting with His birth, His voluntary death and more importantly, His divine resurrection.  May we truly reflect what Christ has accomplished for us this Christmas season, and not worry about what we don’t have, but come to realize that we have already received the greatest gift of all, Jesus.

May you be richly blessed and abide in His presence.

Establish your Heart

James 5:8   You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

With the coming Christmas season at hand, one can become extremely busy with shopping, choosing the right gift, baking, family gatherings and many more things on one’s agenda.

We all know that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because we are really celebrating the birth of Christ.   I believe that Jesus gave us the first Christmas present; himself crucified so that we may live an abundant life.   What can we give Him in return?  I know there are many things like our praise, our time, adoration, prayer, but one thing He really wants is our heart.

A while back the Lord showed me that He only had part of my heart, he did not have it in its entirety.   I had given away “pieces” of my heart through hurts, unforgiveness, and pain.

Luke 10:27 says  “he answered and said,” ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, with all your strength, and will all your mind, and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’

My heart was not established, which means firm, solid.  Some of it’s pieces belonged elsewhere, and not to the Lord.  When  I decided to give the Lord my  hurt and pain, the miraculous happened.  Jesus  healed it and made it whole, and now it truly belongs to Jesus, all of it!

You see, I could not love the Lord will all my heart if pieces of it belonged to hurt and pain.  I confessed to the Lord that those areas did not belong to Him, and I wanted Him to have it.  He accepted, I don’t think anyone else would have.

My heart is now established, no more are pieces missing and off balance, but it was made whole and  healed.  Serving Him became much more joyful and easy!

Jesus gave us His heart, His life, His everything.  Let us give Him our heart, and all we can as our gift to Him.

May you be richly blessed!

December Prophecy

By Maurice Sklar

The American dollar is about to lose 30% more of its’ present value.  This will be the second drop since the previous 2008 drop of 20%.  The dollar will then be worth half of what it was before September 2008.  This drop will cause great economic distress upon our nation.  The church will be shaken and many will wake up spiritually and cry out to ME.  There will be also looting, rioting, and terrorism in our land.

There is an even greater financial disaster that is falling upon Europe that will collapse the Euro, cause panic and chaos there.  Germany will refuse to prop up the euro any more.  Basic needs in the poorer European nations will be threatened.  Many will lose their money overnight as the stage is set for the financial takeover of the Antichrist system.  This is imminent, and the dollar will also follow, although it will survive for a season more.

The great revival will also begin.  God has hidden His Holy Apostles and Prophets for this present hour.  There will be great outpourings of supernatural provision, miracles, and healing in various places.  These areas will become cities of refuge and places of refuge for God’s people.

There is coming an all out war in the Middle East as the neighboring Arab nations will come against Israel with a sudden missile attack starting from the north with Hezbollah, Lebanon, and Syria.  Other Arab nations will join.  Israel will be hit from all sides at once and there will be deaths and partial destruction of settlements, smaller cities to the north, and some damage to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well.  Israel will respond with great force, and limited nuclear weapons will release devastation upon the neighboring countries, particularly Lebanon, Damascus, which will be destroyed completely, and the rest of Syria as well as military strikes into Iran, Gaza, and even northern Egypt/Sinai region.

The resulting shaking of the West will then release a tremendous movement of Jews making aliyah back to Israel.  There will no longer be security or stability as it has been up to now in America and Europe. Israel will emerge victorious from this war, but hurt. However, the devastation inflicted upon the attackers will be one hundred times worse. The spoils of this war will include much territory and will force the west to recognize the Holy God of Israel.  It will emerge as the only stable country in the region.  Many, even millions of Arabs will be killed.  Islam will receive a mortal wounding by the Holy God of Israel.

I am taking Billy Graham home to heaven soon.  When you see this, know that My time of grace for the Gentile nations is coming to a close.

Prepare your hearts, the LORD is at the door to appear for His Bride, the overcoming church in this midnight hour

Pray for those that are trapped in darkness that God will reach them in time.

In our Messiah,

The Tree of Life

Tree of Life1 Corinthians 11:28-30  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.   For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

Taking communion for me one Sunday a month at church was becoming an occasional ritual, and I longed for some deeper teaching on the subject.   Speaking with a missionary friend recently, she mentioned that at her missions conference they had a guest speaker and he spoke on the very subject of communion.    I was able to find his article online where you can read in it’s entirety here.  As I read the article, I felt that I wanted to share my short version of it with you now.

So what does Communion mean?  According to Websters dictionary it means;   Fellowship;  interchange of transactions, or offices; a state of giving and receiving; agreement; concord.    We are naturally led to seek communion and fellowship with others.

In the Garden of Eden, we read how God and Adam had fellowship/communion with each other.    God  gave Adam  instructions that they, Adam and Eve,  were freely to partake of every tree, except the tree of Knowledge of Good and evil because if they did this, they would surely die.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.  The punishment for their sin -  they were cast out of the Garden of Eden, and a Cherubim with a flaming sword was placed to guard the way to the Tree of Life.  Why was the Cherubim placed to guard the Tree of Life?  Because if Adam had access to it, they would live forever.  See Genesis 3:22.

We now go to the last Adam, Jesus.  Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross,  we are now free from the law of sin and death.  The  first Adam was made a living soul, and the last Adam was made a quickening life giving spirit.  1 Corinthians 15:45

So what does this have to do with communion?  Everything!

Jesus is the true vine (Tree of Life).  Through Adams’ sin, we were attached to the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and through Jesus we  are attached to the Tree of life.   We can only have life if we partake of Jesus’ life.  Adam was banished from the Garden of Eden, and he was no longer able to partake of the Tree of life, but through Jesus that access has been restored to us.

How do we partake of Jesus life?

Jesus says in John 15: 1-5  “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

When Jesus died on the cross and he said it is finished, sin and death was finished, disease, affliction, lack, we passed from the covenant of the law into the age of grace.  Jesus then became our way of life, the tree of life, our endless life.   Hebrews 7:16

Jesus has come to give us life and life more abundantly.   The Tree of Life relates to life, The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil relates to that which is good, bad, right or wrong.

We are no longer attached to the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but are now attached to the tree of life, where there is no sickness or disease, and where we can enjoy an abundant life.

1Co 11:23 -25 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;   and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”   In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

When we partake of communion, we are eating and drinking the very life of the One who is able to impart life.   Jesus is a “root” or the Tree of Life out of dry ground.  If we partake with spiritual understanding and agreement, we will no longer be weak, sickly, and dying prematurely.   When we partake of communion, we should be receiving the quickening life giving spirit.

When we show the Lord’s death, we demonstrate the value of His death.

In taking communion, let us detach ourselves from the Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil, and re-attach ourselves to the Tree of Life, Jesus.

May you be richly blessed this day.

Abundance in Times of Famine

In times of famine, you will have an abundance.

The Lord woke me up with those words a few days ago, it was about 4:30 a.m.  As I jumped out of bed, at first I was happy that I would have an abundance and began praying and praising the Lord.  But the more I thought about what I heard,  I realized that perhaps we are nearing  a time of famine, and maybe we are to do something about it.

I was then reminded about the story of Joseph, how the Lord gave him the interpretation of the dream Pharaoh had regarding the seven fine looking and fat cows, and another seven  ugly looking and gaunt cows.  Pharoah then  had a second dream  with seven heads of grain, plump and good,  and seven thin heads of grain that devoured the seven plump and good grains.  See Genesis 41.

The interpretation the Lord gave Joseph was that there would be seven years of abundance,  and seven years of famine.

In those first seven years, Joseph,  now appointed as Pharaohs right hand man, stored up enough grain in preparation for the famine that lied ahead.  When the famine hit, Egypt had enough grain stored for the people.

The end result:  Egypt did not suffer the consequence  which affected the other lands,  because they heeded the warning the Lord had given them through Joseph.

In all of this, are we to prepare for  a time of famine, or is the Lord giving me another message?  I believe we are to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. It’s no secret that the economy worldwide is in shambles, held up artificially and could collapse at any time.  If  and when that happens, what comes next?   For me it would be hard to imagine since I have never experienced a depression, war or famine in my lifetime.

What I do know is that there will be famine, and it’s supported Biblically.  Like Joseph, we can prepare and store, seek His wisdom and guidance, and trust in Jesus.

May you be richly blessed this day.

Mighty Man of Valor

Judges 6:12 “And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

How many times have you received a prophetic word from the Lord, are filled with excitement and hope, and yet the years go by and nothing happens?  I know how it is, I have been there, and many of you as well.

It’s said that all we need is a word from God to get going, but is that true? We hesitate, we wait, the word grows stale and moldy.  Maybe your mind begins getting filled with excuses such as: I’m too old, I don’t have enough money, I have no ministerial credentials. Maybe your gender is an excuse, or you feel insecure. Whatever the excuse , those are lies from the enemy.

If the Lord has given you a word, that means He trust you and feels confident that you can carry out His work.  But are you willing, do you make yourself available?  Do you have that desire, passion and drive to fulfill your calling?

When the Lord called Gideon a mighty man of valor, he did not see himself that way. He felt insecure,  he was in fact  hiding from Midianites when the Angel showed up.

So what happened?

  • Gideon knew he had favor - we have favor with God
  • Gideon offered a sacrifice  – God offered Jesus as our sacrifice
  • Gideon obeyed his first assignment - through the Spirit we can obey

After Gideon tore down the altar of Baal, it was then the Spirit of the Lord fell upon him, not before!

Often times we have it backwards.  We wait for the Spirit to move upon our lives first for us to move and act, when in fact God is waiting for our obedience so that He can pour more of His Spirit on our lives and empower us to do more.

My encouragement to you this day, rise up you mighty man or woman of valor.  God has a purpose for your life, and he is waiting for you to fulfill your calling.

May you be richly blessed this day.

Double Portion

2 Kings 2:10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”

The story of Elijah and Elijah is one that I never grow tired of reading or hearing about.  I love reading about Elisha’s devotion to Elijah, and his love for him.

Elisha being a prophet knew that the Lord was ready to take Elijah.  During this time, Elijah was asking Elisha to stay behind as he had to go to Bethel and then to Jericho, but he wouldn’t.   He responded that he would not leave him, and he kept true to his word.

Elisha  focus was to stay near Elijah. When Elijah asked him what he wanted, Elisha responded that he wanted a double portion of his Spirit.  His request would be  granted if Elisha was able to keep his eye on him, and on nothing else.

While the sons of the prophets stayed at a distance, Elisha was right by Elijah’s side.  Then it  happened.  The chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, it separated Elijah and Elisha, and Elijah  went up by a whirlwind to heaven.  Elisha saw it and cried out, then saw him no more.   Elisha then took up Elijah mantle, and now the anointing rested upon Elisha.

This is a powerful  lesson we need  learn: stay focused on our vision, don’t be   distracted when “fire” comes near us, and never ever watch from a distance.  We are to keep our focus on God, his plan and his promises for our life,  lest the mantle fall and another takes it.

May all of us keep our focus on God,  appreciate the anointing and be willing to stand next to the fire to receive it.
