Fasting

John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

In my prayer time yesterday, I was asking the Lord to cleanse me of my sin.  The  scripture above came to mind, and I began to journal.

I desire for my Bride to be healed of the infirmities brought on by the world.  They listen more to what the world says than what my word says.  They have more faith in the world then in the word.  
 
Because of the world and its influence, many are dull of hearing my voice. 

I then remembered that at times I would go on a media fast.  The media fast would consist of cutting out any form of news.  That means  Internet, radio, television and newspaper.  It is best done for a week, though fasting a few days brings results. 

The  reason for a media fast is to hear His voice clearer in my life, and to give me direction and direction for others when I minister.  It also helps me  draw closer to Jesus, and develop a more personal relationship.  I desire the kind of relationship where I am not always asking, but listening to the Lord.  I desire to be just with Him. 

I am planning  my next media fast.    If you have not tried a media fast, I encourage you to do so.  Use the time in prayer, meditation and reading of the word. Doing so will cause a purging of the world, and hearing His voice clearer in your life.

Calling the Ranks to Order

12 Aug

 

In my prayer time this evening, the Lord  gave me a word with a vision which I would like to share.

I had asked the Lord how His Bride was, and he responded with the following:

My Bride is coming together, but there are some ranks in confusion, some in  disarray, and there are some ranks  in full formation.    I am calling my leaders to rise up and to put order to those ranks.  My leaders are rising!

The ranks that are in full formation, are those  that hear My voice, and they follow me.

Some ranks are listening to the world, to mans programs and to their own rules.   Some ranks have mixed the word  with the world.  They too will be placed in order by my chosen leaders, the leaders  that I am raising says the Lord.

I then began to pray for those leaders to rise and to take their place in the Kingdom.  As I began to pray, I saw the ranks coming into full order, all doing their part in the Body,  all in one accord and in one Spirit.

May we do our part to hear His voice, and follow Him.  May all of us leave our programs off to the side, and follow the program of the Holy Spirit.

You are a Pain in the Neck!

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.(NKJ)

Many years ago we went to see a famous prophet speak, and this prophet told a story of two guys following him around to every meeting he had. 

Now, these two guys did not approve of  his style of preaching, much less his prophetic gifting.  These two  had a mission, and it was to irritate him while he was speaking.  To make matters worse, they always made sure they had the front row seats.

Reading the above passage, do you think Paul had people harrasing him?  I had read that the thorn in his side was slang for the day of someone being a pain in the neck.  Would you think, like the famous prophet we went to see, had a  thorn on his side by his two buddies sitting in the front row?

If you read the verse carefully, Paul was operating in an abundance of revelations.  This guy was a walking MRI!  If this prophet we went to see had a couple of messengers of a Satan to buffet him, I am sure Paul had his share.

Consider the verse in Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.(NKJ)

All this is saying is that John the Baptist cannot walk in the shoes that Jesus walked in.  Slang for the day.

Sometimes we try to get too anaylytical  regarding the Bible, and miss the message.  But if we read it in it´s full context and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, He will do His job, and we understand the word better.

With that said, doing so makes it easier for us to understand His word and we continue growing in Him.

What is one way that God speaks to His people?

Samuel 28:6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.

I would like to look at these two words in scripture called Urim and Thummim. The Scriptures don’t tell us in detail what they were, but the consensus among those who’ve studied this is that the Urim and the Thummim were two stones.

These stones were either the stones that were embedded in the breastplate of the ephod of the priest that he wore, or they were two stones that were contained in a pouch that was on the side of the ephod and he would stick his hand in. Somehow those two stones would give a person a direction from God.

So when they used the Urim and the Thummim to get direction from God in those times, they would know which direction they’re planning to go. What they would do is ask the Lord a question. “Lord, shall I do this?” And God would answer back by Urim or Thummim, yes or no. And it looks like if you got a Urim the answer was yes, and if you got a Thummim the answer was no.

How did the answer come? That depends on exactly what the Urim and Thummim were. One of the thoughts was, the Urim and Thummim being two stones in the breastplate, when the person prayed one of those stones would light up and glow. If it was the Urim that glowed, God was saying, “Yes,” but if it was the Thummim that glowed, God was saying, “No.” 

You may say that today we don´t have two stones embedded in a priestly garment, but we do have the Holy Spirit, that gut feel within us, that yes or no answer that all believers have.

I am sure most of us at one time or another have had that gut feel of not doing something, or going somewhere or taking a different route while driving. That is the Holy Spirit leading us. We may ask the Lord what to do with a certain situation in our lives, and he will either say yes or no.

Perhaps you have a person on your mind, and it´s the Lord´s way of telling you to pray for them.It´s the Urim saying yes, pray for them. Other times you may ask the Lord a question, and not receive an answer. That is what happened to Saul.He did not receive an answer from the Lord.

Maybe your spiritual Urim and Thummim is a bit rusty. No problem, take it to the Lord and ask him to stir up your gift, and begin exercising it. Soon enough you will have it built into you and it will be so much a part of you that you would not know how you lived without it.

Another Prophetic Word for 2008

The year 2008 will be a year of new beginnings for many within the Body of Christ. That for which the Lord has been preparing you for in the years past, will now come to full manifestation in your life. There will be an acceleration of the restoration of the areas in your life that the enemy has eaten and destroyed, and new life will spring forth within you.

There are times of refreshing that are coming from the presence of the Lord. The full manifestation of His presence and Glory will be revealed as never before. The ark of His presence and Glory will be on full display, both in and through us. We will become the bearer of God’s presence and the light of His Glory will be revealed in power and majesty.

The weights and chains of bondage that have held the people of God back are now broken and destroyed. The yoke of bondage is broken, and the freedom to move in the Spirit of the Lord and to accomplish His purpose and desire will be made manifest.

There will be new life springing forth within you, and you will become like fountains in the desert. Where you have been dry and desolate, will now become rivers of living waters springing forth with new and abundant life. Your life will become drink to the thirsty and hope for the weary.

God’s presence will go before you and devour the enemy, and people will see the presence of God in your life. You will become salt in the land and people will become thirsty for what you possess. They will taste the Fruit of the Spirit in your life and will be renewed and revived. They will taste and see the goodness of the Lord and live.

There’s a new dimension and revelation of My Spirit coming to those that are called by My name. They will see into the realm of the supernatural and shall decree miracles, signs and wonders in the earth. A strong confirmation of My word that is spoken and decreed will be manifested in the earth and the marketplace. That which was hidden the structures and man made buildings, will now be openly manifested in the world around you and My Glory will be revealed.

There’s a shifting that is coming. You will no longer walk like you walked in the past, but there will be a new power and authority in your steps. You shall stand and declare the power of the Lord to the circumstances and you will experience that miraculous as the Lord manifests His power and Glory. You shall decree and it shall be done under the anointing of my Spirit. You shall speak to the mountains of opposition, in the spirit, and they shall be cast into the sea.

A new and fresh anointing is coming upon you, to destroy the works of the enemy and reveal the manifested Glory of God in and through your life.

A fresh rain and a healing rain of My Spirit will begin to fall upon you as you seek my presence, and it will increase until a flood of My Spirit covers the earth.

A new dimension of flowing in the Gifts of the Spirit will come upon you as you make yourself available and open to be used by Him. There is coming a circumcision of the heart as God prepares His people to go forth and declare the word of the Lord. Be prepared and be ready as never before, as My Spirit will move upon you in mighty, mighty ways.

There is coming a restoration of the fear of the Lord in the land as God’s people exercise and declare the power authority of the kingdome of God. Signs and wonders will surely confirm My word and the people will come to know that I am the Almighty, the One true and living God. Be prepared to be used as a tool and an instrument of My Glory. For many of you have been through the fire and have been tried as gold, and now you are going to be put on full display.

There is a bridge to cross over from the natural to the supernatural, to a place where there is a mighty river flowing. You will give drink to the thirsty and your life and your words will become a refreshing to the weary. There’s coming supernatural revelation of My word to those that are seeking Me as a deer that panteth after the water brooks. A divine wisdom to see into the realm of the Spirit for answers to complex issues will come upon you as you seek me.

Stand, speak, decree and declare
are the words for 2008
Seek me with your whole heart
and My exploits will be great

Do not fear
what man shall do
Just listen to My Spirit
and I will lead you through

Lift up your hands
and speak My word
and I will accomplish My plans
through all you’ve heard

For My power and anointing
will be great
Do not be anxious
be still and wait

For the manifestation is coming
and will be on full display
For what has taken years
will now be days

Release that which is within you
be not afraid
for the enemy has been defeated
did I not say

Go forth
and declare
and overcome the Lion
and the bear

be still and be amazed
at all I am about to do
it will be through many
and not just a few

Prophetic Giftings

1 Corinthians 12:8-10  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. (NKJV)

Below is a list of the gifts that are associated with the prophetic ministry.  When the Lord blesses us with gifts, remember it’s for the edifying of His Bride, His Church, and not for own edification.

We are vessels used for God to send out His word into the earth.

Vocal gifts- gifts of speaking in tongues, gift of prophecy and the gift of interpretation.  These three gifts are manifested through the person vocally.

Tongues: The word says that we can speak in divers tongues, or different prayer languages.  Many do not believe in this gift, but for me it is part and parcel of who I am, and for many others as well.

Prophecy:  Speaking Gods word into the earth and into peoples’  lives.  Prophecy is meant to edify and encourage the believer, to draw them closer to the Lord.  Prophecy gives the believer faith and hope to go on.

Interpretation of Tongues: I have been in  meetings where a word will go out in tongues, and the interpretation follows in the native language.  This is another gift which the prophet operates in, interpretation of tongues.

Gifts of Revelation- word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits.

The word of Knowledge:  I remember years back, a person was coming to preach at the church.  The flyer said, “so and so flows in the word of knowledge.”  I asked what that meant, and no one could give me an answer.  The word of knowledge deals with the present or past situation in your life.

The word of wisdom- This has to do with a future orientation.  It tells you what to do in the future, it does not relate to the past at all.

Discerning of spirits:  This gift relates specifically to spirits, which means you have the ability to detect the presence or existence of spirits.  It has nothing to do with the Lord showing you the other person’s sin, that is the gift of the word of knowledge.

Power Gifts-gift of faith, healings and miracles.

Gift of faith:  What is the gift of faith? It is a spontaneous supernatural impartation, which gives a person the ability to believe without a doubt.

Gift of healings:  Here the word healings is plural, it has to do with several healings, such as sickness, fever, headaches and emotional healings. 

Gift of miracles: The gift of miracles in the ability to supercede the natural laws. It is what Jesus used when He turned the water into wine. The gift of miracles is going beyond the natural, not using the natural, but going beyond the natural. Creative miracles, a limb being created out of nothing.  Creative acts – this is the gift of miracles.

Once again, these are the gifts the prophet or any other believer can flow in, but mainly the prophet.

What is an Apostle?

There are many teachings regarding the Apostolic, and I would like to share what I have learned on this popular subject. My desire here is to make this simple and not complicated for all to understand. I would like to share what I have learned about this subject while in ministry training.

Below are some signs to look for in an Apostle. Having these signs in your life does not make you an Apostle, that is for the Lord to decide.

An Apostle is a pioneer. They receive a plan/blueprint from the Lord, much like Moses did and they begin to execute that plan.

An Apostle is set apart and sent by God, unlike missionaries where they are sent by an organization. They receive a direct call from God and execute that plan. Many times he or she is a loner and viewed by many as odd, or off in the wrong path.

Romans 1:1 says Romans 1:1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God(NKJ)

An Apostle leaves the visible church system to receive training from God. We have the example of Jesus, King David, Moses and John the Baptist.

An Apostle builds the church. But what is the church? The church are the people, not a building. They begin by setting a new foundation in the hearts of the people, doing away with old mindsets and teaching them new truths and revelation from the word.

An Apostle can function in all the five fold ministries. They may have a stronger emphasis in two to three areas, but they are able to function in all five at any given moment as the Lord requires.

An Apostle faces death to the flesh constantly and to things that just don’t go right. They learn quickly to die already, and move on.

An Apostle is a servant and receives the call from the womb. We have Jesus as the example.

Galatians 1:15 – 16 says: But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood

An Apostle does not build on other men’s foundation, they receive their own blueprint from the Lord. 1 Corinthians 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Can anyone be an Apostle? The answer is no. I have written an article titled “Are you Called or Chosen” that answers this question. We need to understand that being called as an Apostle carries with it a heavy price.

Can women be Apostles? Yes, because the scripture does not give reference to gender when distributing the gifts of the spirit. The Lord is looking for willing vessels, ready to carry out His plan upon the earth. Colossians 3:11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

An Apostle does not produce new scripture. So run fast from those that say otherwise.

Apostles are called to leadership, they are not followers.
Romans 11:13 Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles I magnify mine office (KJV)

An Apostle will have a face to face relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and excellent communication.

This is just a very small overview of what being an Apostle is about. As the Lord leads, I will add new articles on this subject.

Become Pregnant

I came across a phrase that I have not considered in quite a while. The phrase was “Become pregnant.” - When we hear this word in the natural, we think of women, for the most part anyway, planning a pregnancy.

While there are natural pregnancies, the Lord can bless us with a spiritual pregnancy.

What? Become pregnant spiritually? Yes! As believers, we can become pregnant in the spirit.

When a couple becomes intimate, pregnancy occurs. For us to become pregnant in the spirit, we must have an intimate relationship with Jesus.

So how does one become pregnant in the spirit? To obtain a spiritual pregnancy is no different that becoming pregnant in the natural. It requires intimacy.

What is your desire? What spiritual gift do you long for? What ministry do you desire to function in? What goal do you have, what revelation do you need? All of your desires can be achieved with intimacy. Once that relationship with the Lord has occurred, then conception naturally follows.

After conception takes place, you may notice some morning sickness and things beginning to change around you. It is here that you protect that seed growing inside your spirit.

In the last months of your spiritual pregnancy, you may wonder why the gift you have prayed for is not yet manifest. This is the process known as spiritual birthing. Do not give up. Hang on to the promise that the Lord has given to you in your secret place.

Personally, I have wanted to quit several times. The birthing process can be painful. Arrows are thrown at you, and your life is in a mess. I have had to come to a place of getting back into the intimacy of the Lord to find out what stage I was at.

Everyone goes through labor, and everyone’s labor pain may be different, but we all go through it.

If you have a firm conviction of what the Lord has placed in you, do not give up. Continue to labor until giving birth. This is a critical phase, as the enemy will try to have you abort your child.

If you have a desire to achieve greater things for the Lord, then continue your journey. If you have yet to birth anything, then become pregnant! Become pregnant with His Spirit His word and your desire. After your firstborn is safe, get pregnant again. There are no limits with God, and it is the Lord’s desire to pour everything into us.

Go ahead, become pregnant.
