In the book of John, Jesus empahzied that the measure of the Father’s love (affection) for Jesus is the same measure of His love for His people. Jesus emphasized this three times .
This single truth gives every believer the right to view themselves as “God’s favorite.”
Read for yourself in Jesus’ own words what he declares about the Father:
- John 15: 9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
- John 17:23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me
- John 17:26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them
The truth that God loves us just as much as He loved Jeus is very powerful. I cannot imagine anyone loving my own son as much as I do, but God does. I had to really meditate and allow this truth to penetrate my heart, and something wonderful began to happen inside of me. I began to develop a deeper revelation of the love God has for me.
Allow this truth to penetrate your own heart, and as you do your life will begin to transform to show the love of Jesus to others.
