Isaiah 35:8 A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray. As many of you know, we live in a semi-rural area, and near our home there has been a road that has been undergoing an expansion.
This small, two lane rural road is one that we use often. Lately, we have avoided going this direction to avoid the construction, heavy equipment, delays and detours. After a few months, we decided to use the road again, and wanted to see the progress.
Once on the road, we were surprised to see the wonderful work that was accomplished. The new road was wider, able to accomodate the public transport system, with proper bus stops and wonderful sidewalks. The street no longer resembled a rural, low-quality road.
As we drove, we realized that the old asphalt had to be torn up in order to lay a better foundation and make it wider.
It was then that I heard the Lord say that this is what he wants with his Bride. He no longer wants us to be that rural road, hidden where no one can see us, but a wider road, one that accomoadates more vehicles, strong and stable and with a greater capacity.
I also know that the Lord was speaking to me. I understood for that to happen, the old asphalt must be torn out, some construction needs to take place within, maybe a detour, but the final result will be a highway that can accomodate more traffic.
How will He do that? That is up to the Lord. All we need to do is submit and step out in faith, believe that he will work in us so that we can flow with greater capacity.
Are you ready for that road work in your life? I am!
Blessings in His name.

I love analogies. You are an awesome writer…thanks for sharing.
Good Post Yvette another one that has spoken to me. It’s very early ( well – early for a night owl ) Christmas Day and I believe the Lord had me read this at the right time ( again ) : )
I’ve done some construction work in the past and everything looks like a mess until just before the project is finished, then it starts looking like a house and after a little more finishing and detail work it’s a beautiful place to live in.
He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Merry Christmas : )
Excellent Yvette!
