Receiving care and protection

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.(NKJ)

We had a half breed pit bull that had everything going for him here.  He had food, fresh bones, a large yard, and even a  doghouse with a warm blanket to sleep in, and owners that cared for him.

One particular morning, a female dog wandered into the yard. Rocky decided to leave the property in pursuit of her.   He had left the property before, but he always came back.    We began to worry as Rocky did not return and we later  found out he had been hit by a car, and was found lying on the highway.

I immediately thought about the many times we don´t realize the blessings we have.  Something shinier, prettier, flashier comes our way, and we chase after it.  We are always looking to see what better things may be out there, without stopping to reflect  what is really trying to pull us away from what we already have.

When we get pulled away from our safe surroundings, we enter unfamiliar territory. When we leave the protection and covering of God´s will in our lives, it can bring dangerous results.

As mature Christians, we should evaluate what  the Lord has blessed us with, be thankful  and most of all, use discernment when something tries to distract us.

When the enemy leads you away from something, in only brings death.  When Jesus leads, its life and life more abundantly.

Blessings in Him.

  1. Good post. Yes, we must discern the right way to go whenever Satan dangles that delicious carrot in front of us. The only way to discern right from wrong is to stay close with God. Jesus sticks closer than a brother! Amen.

  2. Hi Beloved Friend,
He has been instructed by the Holy Spirit and he will not go far, He is testing his wings challenging what he believes in. We suffer to grow and mature. Let him experience life to let him call out to God for himself. Trust not in man but God whom already called on him at a young age. Not that we stop praying or stop greeting him with a smile, or preparing for the future. God himself calls the shots Jesus courts us into his courts as He has this courtship with his bride. Song of Songs tells the story the bride, whose response is “not yet” then it is ok to continue and the wedding is set.. Jesus will court too with your son. I love you and lend a sholder if need be.
