Noah heard God
Genesis 6:5-6 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.(NKJ)
I was doing a study on the power of the Spirit the other day, and the Lord directed me to Noah.
I did not understand why the Lord took me to Noah in studying about the Holy Spirit, but I finally got it.
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit/Word of the Lord was not present as it is today. It was given to certain prophets, priest and judges for a specific time.
During Noah´s time, the earth was full of wickedness and evil. The verse quoted above says every intent of the thoughts of his (man´s) heart was only evil continually. So I asked myself, how was Noah able to hear the directives of the Lord so clearly, in the midst of continual evil?
Sometimes I get so busy with life that I feel that I am not hearing the Lord at times. So I got to thinking, if Noah heard accurately in the midst of the chaos and evil around him, then certainly I and others could as well.
When I find myself this way, I quiet down in my spirit to hear the Lord. Often times I go to my room and close the door. I announce to the family that it´s my prayer time, and they understand that I am not to be disturbed.
Today we have it easier than Noah did. We have the Holy Spirit present at all times. We can turn off the television, unplug the phone, go to our room and if possible, get away for a weekend to be with the Lord.
The bottom line is, God wants to speak with us. He longs for fellowship with His Bride. Let us make ourselves available to Hear His voice, and be receptive to His directives in life.
Blessings in Him.

Yes…the bottom line is that God wants to talk with us and reveal things to us. Making ourselves available is vital to hearing His voice. Thanks for the reminder that He speaks in the midst of chaos and evil, and we hear Him when and IF we take time to quiet our spirits! Good post! Blessings and hugs!
Standing in the presence of Jesus and knowing the anointing of His good pleasure begins with prayer. The psalmist (100:4) says: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!” It doesn’t make sense to ask for a special request while we’re still out in the lobby. Thank you for a word with us today.
Wow, Yvette. This is so true and so important.
I am always reminded of this Scripture, when I hear or teach about having a clear mind before you pray:
The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. (1 Peter 4:7, NIV)
Thanks so much for joining Beth group today.
With love Sid
Gen 6:8-9But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Sometimes the Lord will speak in a loud voice even in all the Chaos of life and we must surely hear and also see His Holy hand. John 10: 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
I loved when you said … Sometimes I get so busy with life that I feel that I am not hearing the Lord at times.
we all get that way sometimes but , we thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit and the Grace of God to draw us close to God for on our own we cannot do that.
God bless
