The rainy season has come upon us

Flowers from our yard

Flowers from our yard

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.(NKJ)

Now that the rainy season has arrived, so have the flies.  The best part about the rain falling every day everything around us turns green, the tropical plants bloom and you see flowers and colors everywhere you go.

Unfortunately, we have to put up with the flies along with all the colors  as well.  As I noticed them flying around the house, I quickly dusted off my fly swatter and began killing them.  I did miss a few, but after waiting patiently, they would show up again, and then they met the fly swatter.

As I was doing this, the Lord spoke to me these  simple but yet profound  words;   ¨ Just as the rains began to fall in my spirit, the flies show up.¨

In the natural, I have a fly swatter to kill these guys, but in the spiritual we have the sword of the spirit.  While I did miss getting all of  them the first time, I kept trying and eventually did get them all.

Battling the enemy is not a one time thing.  We continue our spiritual battle as long as we are on this earth.

As for the flies, they have a life span of 30-60 days.

The same is true with the enemy.  He knows that his life span on earth is about to expire.    Since he knows this, he will find where the rain of the Holy Spirit is falling, and do all he can in his power to wreak havoc and disrupt what the Lord has planned for you.

I feel we need to rely on the Holy Spirit more than ever in these last days, especially when it comes to killing the flies  without disrupting the flow of the Holy Spirit.

The word says the greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.  As we continue to seek Him in prayer and study of the word, we will be able to spot the fly and quickly squish him to death.

Blessings in Him

Good analogy. Yes, I believe he knows his time is short and that is one of the reasons we see the great upheaval that we do. I take great comfort in 1Jn 4:4.

Met you over at Sid’s place. So glad I found your site. Blessings to you…

This is awesome! Love the analogy!

Its so true, whenever God calls into more of Himself, there is resistance from the devil. Thank you, for this teaching.

The devil promotes all kinds of distractions to keep our minds off God, but it is up to us to decide whether or not to be distracted. Having had a serious fly problem in my home last year, I can appreciate this analogy. We need to treat the distractions that come our way as nothing more important than flies that need to be swatted to death, using the word of God. No matter how many times we have to get out our fly swatter, we need desperately to keep our minds on God.

We continue our spiritual battle as long as we are on this earth.
that is why the Bible talks about us overcoming,
To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. we should ask ourselves, what are we to overcome? simple all these spiritual battles that plagues us while on Earth.
God bless you as always for a great blog
