Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.(NKJ)
Living in a semi rural area is very enjoyable for us. We enjoy seeing the farmers growing their crops, the oxen plowing the field, the coffee pickers going into the coffee fields, and visiting the farmers market on the weekends where we can purchase fresh produce grown in the area.
We have a field just across from our home where farmers either plant cabbage, tomato and a variety of other crops, depending on the time of year. We see them plowing the land, planting, fertilizing and then reaping their crops. They work at it, and it does not matter what the weather is like, they are there working the land.
Just like the farmer taking care of his land, ridding it of weeds and insects, the believer has a spiritual battle going on inside.
The works of the flesh are always trying to destroy the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is within us. But like the farmer going out into the field, it is his habit, it is part of him, it is who he is.
I had spoken to a farmer, and for him being in the field early in the morning is who he is. He would not have life any other way. He does not desire the big city, and enjoys working the land.
I read that once we form a new habit, the habit then forms us. If we are weak in an area that hinders spiritual growth, we can form a new habit that will cause us to grow in the Lord. With the Lord´s help, we can form that new habit, and then that habit will form us.
If we are determined to form a new healthy habit in our lives that will edify the Lord even more, there is nothing God will do to stop us. He will offer His full support, and it doesn’t matter how many times we fail, He will be there to us encourage us to get up and try again.
Like the farmers that plows the land, fertilize it and reap its crop, we too will reap the benefit of a renewed mind in Christ and healthy habit that will cause the Holy Spirit in us to rule over sin with greater ease.
Begin to fertilize the Holy Spirit within you, and see yourself grow and mature in the Lord at a quicker pace.
Blessings in Him.

Our hearts and minds are just like a tank to fill in. Everyday, these tanks goes almost empty and we have to fill it with good water, the Word of God. We has to be full or else, an enemy will come and will fill it with polluted water; lust, anger, brawling, deceit, etc…
We have to be sure that our tanks is always full that there is no room for any polluted waters anymore. What a wonderful post Yvette.

Amen Yvette. We must renew our minds with the word of God on a daily basis. Not only by reading them, but by speaking them out loud as well. Great post!

Amen Sister! I love starting my day in prayer at His feet and also in The Word. It is the only way to live, and it is an act of obedience out of our live and reverence for all that He has done for us. May Those who have ears, hear what you say, and begin cultivating a new life in Christ on a consistent basis. God Bless, Robin
