Be Doers of the Word

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.(NKJ)

My husband was speaking to a friend of ours who went to do some  work at a couple´s home.  The worker commented that the couple did not portray their Christianity, and that he is routinely treated very poorly.

It is sad to say, but these stories are common today.  We act like Christians on Sunday, and during the rest of the week we are someone completely different.  We behave and say the right buzz words with our Christian friends, but then face the world and act like them during the week.

The word above says that we are to be doers of the word. In other words, be Christ-like in every area of our lives.

I am particular when it comes to treating people.  We are all God´s creation, saved or unsaved, and when we interact with others we portray Christ in us.  We portray Christ with our words and actions.  We are Christ´s representatives on earth.

I would be saddened to hear of someone speaking about me, that person not having a clue that I have Jesus in my heart.  I then began to think;  If I was belittling a fellow Christian, don´t you think that the Lord would be saddened as well?

Let us learn to be doers of the word in all areas of our lives.  Our speech, our manner of treating others, and our actions towards strangers.  If we struggle, we have a helper with us that will teach us and guide us every step of the way.

Word for September, 08

I will pour out my Spirit in a greater measure to  those that are earnestly seeking Me and bowing to Me  in the quiet of their lives.

There is an abundance of outpouring that will land upon my dry and barren land.  Many are crying for more of My Spirit, for power in their lives and I will be answering those prayers in different parts of the world this month of September, for the ninth month is a month of birthing says the Lord.

Many new gifts in my people will be birthed this month. The world will be astounded at what I am doing in my Body.  These gifts will come to those that seek my presence, that seek my anointing, my glory.

For the time has come for a greater measure of my Spirit to be poured out upon the earth.

The time draws near for the return of My Son.  Darkness increases, but as darkness increases so does my power and authority says the Lord.

Vision – I saw a giant hurricane-type wind form in the ocean, and the wind would come upon the land, and overtake different parts of the world.

Friday´s Blessings

**I tried to post this on Friday, but WordPress was not publishing my post. **

It has been a few weeks since I have posted my blessings.   I apologize for my  procrastination.

This week I was blessed as  a dear friend called up and invited me over for lunch.  We spent the entire day catching up, and having those good heart to heart talks that you can only do with a handful of people.   We would catch up every so often on the phone, but it was such a blessing to me as Elizabeth and Jenny spoiled me over lunch.   I am blessed that I have  Elizabeth and Jenny as my friends.

Speaking of friends, not long ago we were able to make contact with some past co- workers in the ministry.    We have reunited with several people from our past   work, and are richer for it.   I just love it how the Lord puts these things together.

A few weeks ago we celebrated Mothers Day  in Costa Rica.  To some people it may be no big deal, but I cherish the fact that I can be called mom.  When Fernando and I were first married, we tried for several years to conceive, and nothing.  We had the usual round of Doctor visits, fertility drugs and even surgeries, all of which  provided no baby.  A few years after giving up, we discovered that I was pregnant.  Our son Richard has just turned 19, and I am blessed as he is a man of God.   Richard has proven to be a responsible young man, and handsome too!

I finally decided to join the Christian Writers Guild.   I completed a basic writing course with another writing group,  but felt I needed something a bit more intense.  I feel a writing bubble inside that needs the right  coaching.

I am also blessed as next week Fernando and I will be going away for a few days to Condovac La Costa.  We are looking for some time away from the house and phone.   Hopefully it won´t rain too much!

One last blessing, my husbands pay has been a bit delayed, but we are all caught up now. I bet anyone can relate to that one.

May you all have a blessed weekend.
