Do you have a Government job?

August 11, 2008 Yvette 2 comments

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

My husband had a government job working for the school district while living in the States.  While he did not care for the job much,  the best part about having this type of  employment  was  the health benefits.   We always had people telling us how excellent our benefits were.

I remember at one point applying for  a government job.   People would line up hours in advance  to take a placement test, just to get their foot in the door so to speak.

As I read this verse, it dawned on me that we have government jobs once we become saved.   We have a job with the Government of God.

The verse says  that God will increase His government, and there will be no end.  In other words, people are being added to His government daily, being saved!

With Jesus, we have the best health benefits available, and more. We have eternal life, freedom from curses, sickness and disease, joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.

We don´t have to line up early to be granted a position, because once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are in.

If you have ever felt that there  is just too much evil in the world, rejoice, because there are people added daily to His government.

Blessings in Him

Getting a Direct Power Charge

Luke 8:46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”(NKJ)

I am sure that at one time in your Christian walk, you wanted the person with the strongest anointing to lay hands on you in hopes of receiving the overflow.

I was the kind that wanted the anointing anytime I could get it. That  was when I was still a young believer and thought that if someone prayed and layed hands on me, that I could flow like them. I was not willing to put the effort into receiving anything for myself.

Praise the Lord for maturity and growth!  Understanding this verse better, the woman with the issue of blood could have sent someone to Jesus, so that He could visit her. She was not permitted to be out of her home, as she risked death in doing so.

This determined woman believed that all she had to do was touch Jesus, she would be healed.  Many of us don´t have the discipline to reach out to Jesus and ask Him for His anointing on our lives.  We want others to pray for us, like the old me, receive it without any effort and walk away.  Well it just does not work that way, sorry.

We can, by ourselves, reach out to Jesus and receive directly from Him all that we ask. Do you desire for a spiritual gift, reach out and ask.  What about a stronger anointing?  reach out and ask.

Believe that you are reaching for Jesus, with all your might, power and your spirit. While you are reaching for Jesus, have your Spirit pull down the anointing that is available to you from the Father of lights, and as you touch Him, power will go out from Jesus directly into you.

The Critical Path of the Christian

Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.

Recently my husband was working on an excel spreadsheet for a project that he is in charge of.  When I asked him what  he was working on, he replied, ¨The Critical Path.¨  You engineers out there will know what this is, but I didn´t so he proceeded to tell me.

He explained that the project he is working on has many details, and the spreadsheet helped him plan the  path needed to take care of those details.

The term, Critical Path got me thinking. We can apply this term to every area of our lives.  I heard a motivational speaker once say, ¨The book you don´t read today will affect you tomorrow.¨  We can apply that saying to any situation in our lives,  just vary it to what our circumstance is.

We can plan our retirement, our eating habits, improving ourselves, and  on and on.    But what I mostly liked about this term is how I could apply it to my Christian walk.

  • The prayers I don´t say today could affect me and others tomorrow.
  •  The book (Bible) I don´t read today could affect me and others tomorrow.
  •  If I don´t study the word today, it can affect me tomorrow.
  • The exercise I don´t do today, (prayer, memorizing scripture) will affect me tomorrow.

Let´s look at it this way:

  • The spiritual preparation I do  today will yield fruit tomorrow.
  • The scripture I memorize today will bring life tomorrow.
  • The book I read today will bring hope tomorrow to those I pray for.
  • The time I spend with the Lord soaking, will bring revelation tomorrow.

I am taking a closer look at my critical path, and doing some serious thinking  and planning on where I want to be in two, five and ten years.    With Jesus, our path with Him is a blessing, .  The best part is, if you ask Him to help you plan, He will answer.

Blessings to you.
