Can Anything Good Come out of Nazareth?

John 1:46 And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”(NKJ)

Have you ever been ashamed of your background?  The place you grew up in, the neighborhood, your parents or siblings?  Perhaps you were poor growing up and went without in many areas, and you don´t share  that part of your life to others.

We sometimes hold onto our past, or ashamed to tell anyone how and where we grew up.  But let me tell you something.  Your past does not dictate who you are today in the Lord.

From the verse quoted above, it sounds like Nazareth was not a good place.  Can anything good come out of Nazareth tells me that it sounds pretty bad.   But  Jesus came out of Nazareth, the Son of God that took away our sins and gave us eternal life!

The word says that once we accept Christ, the old has gone and the new has come.  The old man has died, and we have been born again with a new spirit.  While it may take some time to change our mindset, we can rest assured that we have been made new.

Is the past holding onto you?  Let it go, create a new mindset of the new creation you are today in Christ, and I bet something grand will come out of it.
