Time to Tell The Story

Exodus 10:1 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his
heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may show these signs of Mine before him,
2 “and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the
mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.”(NKJ)

As a child I was told  that my grandfather was a preacher.  Sadly I heard very few stories
about him.  My father would tell me that he immigrated from Mexico to California, where he and my grandmother set up several Spanish speaking churches and ministered to the community in several cities.

Another story my father would tell me is how he brought people into the church to hear his message.   He posted a sign on the sidewalk that would say “Free Beer after Service.” When the service was over, he gave everyone there root beer!

I would have loved to hear what my grandfathers sermons were like, but those stories
were never told.  I feel that I missed out on what kind of preacher he was like behind the pulpit.

Here God is telling Moses to tell the story of the signs God has done among them, so that
they may know that He is the Lord.

We should pass down our stories of God’s goodness in our lives to our children and grandchildren, and by our stories they will know that He is the Lord of our lives.

We all have a story to tell, a story about Jesus  and how our lives have changed by having Him in our heart.

Amen. Having the God of Moses in our lives, we will have much to pass down to our kids, if we are seekers of Him, and if we do not settle for mere religion.
