James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

This is one of my favorite verses and one that I quote often.

In coming across the verse again, the word submit stood out to me. I began to meditate on this word, and realized that this word is talking about an act of our own free will. We choose to submit to the Lord, and when we choose to submit to the Lord, the enemy must flee. God and Satan cannot be in the same room together. The room that I am speaking about is our spirit.

But sometimes it is not that easy. Things get in the way like sin and our flesh.

However, there is hope in Christ. All we need to do is speak the word that we choose to submit to the Lord in all areas of our lives, and for Christ to dwell in our mind and thoughts.

Submit to Him today in every aspect and you will walk in a freedom that you did not expect.
