Matthew 25:21 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
As a child growing up, our family did not have much. What little we did have, we took care of.
As I read this verse afresh, I was locked on the words, faithful over a few things. Yes Lord, I had few things growing up and was faithful, but for the wrong motives. As I meditated on what my few things were, I began to think this verse is not just talking about material goods.
I began to jot down a list of those “few things.” Friends, family, health, and being responsible with the spiritual gifts the Lord has entrusted me with.
As I went through my list, I began to understand that it is everything that the Lord has placed into our hands.
As we become faithful with the few things, the Lord will make us ruler over many things. We will graduate and earn that right to have that privilege. What is more of a blessing is that we enter into joy and we receive many things.
Be faithful in the few, and receive the many things our Lord has in store for us.
